breaksWudu

Using the toilet, passing wind, deep sleep, and losing consciousness. Then make wudu again before praying.

The four obligatory parts come from Qur'an 5:6 (face, arms to the elbows, wiping the head, feet to the ankles). Washing three times is the Sunnah.

1. Intention and Bismillah

Make the intention in your heart and say Bismillah.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ

Bismillah

In the name of Allah.

repeat · Before wudu (Abu Dawud 101)

2. Hands

Wash both hands up to the wrists, three times.

3. Mouth

Rinse your mouth, three times.

4. Nose

Sniff water into your nose and blow it out, three times.

5. Face

required

Wash your whole face from hairline to chin and ear to ear, three times.

6. Arms

required

Wash your right arm up to and including the elbow, then the left, three times each.

7. Head

required

Wipe over your head with wet hands, once.

8. Ears

Wipe inside and behind the ears with wet fingers, once.

9. Feet

required

Wash your right foot up to and including the ankle, between the toes, then the left, three times each.

10. The du'a after wudu

Then say:

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

repeat · After wudu (Sahih Muslim 234)
